Ratzeputz & Co.

Although C.W. Baland & Langebartels, has been and is present for many, many years and although we could have produced a wide range of spirits, it was a very early management decision to produce and distribute only a few but very high class spirits.

Before the Ratzeputz was created in 1877, Baland & Langebartels produced a juniper spirit (a kind of Gin) and other specialities, especially for the German market.

With the invention of the Ratzeputz and its worldwide success, it quickly became the main product of Baland & Langebartels. Based on the original Ratzeputz, the Ratzingwer was introduced. In order to make the portfolio of ginger liqueurs complete, the P.W. Finest Ginger Liqueur was introduced shortly afterwards. Both, the Ratzingwer as well as the P.W. Finetst Ginger Liqueur were and are still both based on the Ratzeputz and therefor have the same intense ginger taste.

Not too many years ago our portfolio was completed by the Heidegeist. This regional speciality from and for the Lüneburg Heath has become the second strongest product within a comparatively short period of time.
